Established in 2000, we have years of experience in architecture, urban design and planning. Our detailed feasibility studies give each project the best chance of obtaining planning approval including planning applications within a heritage setting.
Taking the project from conception to completion
We provide a full service from a comprehensive site analysis, planning drawings and documents, to the technical design required for Building Regulations , Tender and construction. As experienced project managers, we take the stress out of managing the contract and construction process to deliver a successful end project.

Roomzzz Aparthotel, York
Ranked the highest rated UK hotel on a global list of Hottest New Hotels, Roomzzz Aparthotel, York
is a 97-bedroom aparthotel located on Terry Avenue, next to the river in York City Centre.
Studio Map are keen to promote sustainable technology and have therefore used cross laminated timber (CLT) as a modern,
sustainable alternative to traditional construction materials.
The Aldwark Manor Spa Hotel, Alne, Near York
Studio Map are excited to be involved in alterations to and the extension of Aldwark Manor Hotel. This is an on-going project that will include new build accommodation, a new build spa and health facility, golf club, restaurant and wedding venue, as well as the complete renovation of all existing facilities. Work commenced on site December 2019 and will be carried out over a three year period. The images below show the completed bar/lounge and restaurant and a CGI of the proposed, new spa and leisure facility.
Iconinc involved the conversion and extension of an existing school and parish hall in the heart of the conservation area of Lincoln, to provide 140 new residential units for the University of Lincoln. Despite holdups due to the discovery of archaeological finds, including medieval skeletons and a Roman wall, the project was completed September 2020.
Roomzzz Aparthotel, Newcastle
A new 79-unit extension to Roomzzz Aparthotel in the heart of conservation area of Newcastle city centre.
The new extension, which is spread over eight floors, is in keeping with the urban setting in terms of scale and mass and is linked to the existing building via a contemporary new link. Sustainable technology is a significant element of the design and we have therefore included CLT, a highly flexible material with a lower carbon footprint than traditional materials and a green roof.
White House Farm, Harrogate,
A small residential development comprising 9no new detached, semi-detached and terraced houses at Killinghall for Ailsa 3 Developments. Constructed in stone with slate roofs, the development has a traditional feel, yet offers light, bright and highly contemporary family accommodation with good connections to the external amenity.
Low Mill Mews, Ripon
A small residential development, comprising 10no two and three bed properties for Ailsa 3 Developments, that delivers on cost and quality.
The development, which combines terrace, semi-detached and detached properties, offers high-quality, contemporary, sustainable design using traditional materials and local labour.
A 19th century property, sensitively restored from flats to a family home, The Oval has been remodeled and extended to include a large kitchen-dining-family room appropriate to modern family needs. In addition, it has future proofed against changing requirements with a new glass lift and central stair that are naturally lit by a new roof lantern.

Studio Map have a strong portfolio of high-end, award winning private residential homes. Our architects work closely with all clients to create designs that are unique, sustainable and appropriate to individual needs and context.
Studio Map have projects at all stages of the RIBA Plan of Works including projects on site and projects that have received or are awaiting Planning Approval. Our projects vary in size and type, from exclusive, high-end homes to residential and/or
mixed-use developments, hotels and student accommodation.

Studio Map are currently progressing the
construction package for an exciting new spa and leisure facility at Aldwark Manor, due to start on site October 2021.
LABC Building Excellence Awards 2020
Winner of Best House
The team at Studio Map are the proud winners of Best House at this year's 2020 LABC Building Excellence Awards, received for a high-end, private residential property in Leeds.
Wigley Hall Farm
Construction has started for the conversion of a 17th century farmhouse and associated outbuildings to provide a single family dwelling. Where appropriate, the historical elements will be retained. A new contemporary feel will be achieved via the introduction of new, glazed links and by raising the roof to bring in more light.

We are looking forward to receiving planning approval for new, self-contained, holiday accommodation at Aldwark Manor. The design uses traditional materials in a contemporary manner to create high-quality, sustainable units.

We are currently on-site with a contemporary two-storey extension to an existing property in North Leeds, due to complete early 2022.
Private House, Bramhope, Leeds

We are awaiting approval for the re-modelling and extension of an existing home in Bramhope.

Awaiting Planning Approval
We are currently seeking approval for a multistorey, mixed use scheme in the Kirkstall Road area of Leeds City Centre. The development will provide 16no apartments, 2no duplexes and cafe/bar at street level.

Studio Map look forward to receiving planning approval on behalf of The Park Lane Group for phase II of the recently completed Iconinc student residential development in Lincoln.
Medical Centre, Nr. York
Concept and Feasibility
An exciting new project albeit still in the early stages: Studio Map are currently exploring designs for a new medical centre and pharmacy near York prior to submission for planning approval.
Private House, Alwoodley
The steel frame is in place for this contemporary new, two-storey dwelling in Alwoodley and we look forward to further progression over the next 52-weeks.

Romina is an Engineer with an MSc in Project Management and 5-years' experience.

Tono Rodriguez, MA
Tono qualified at Diego Portales University, Chile in 2010 and has worked in the UK since 2011.
Favourite Architect: "...Mies van de Rohe, particularly the Barcelona Pavillion, 1929 and Farnsworth House, 1945 for its' ephemeral structure"
Tom Hattan, MA
Tom qualified at The University of Sheffield in 2019 is working towards his Part III.
Favourite Building: "Farnsworth House, 1945, by Mies van der Rohe. The building sits lightly on the site, allowing the occupants to be fully connected to the surrounding landscape."
Priya Dayananda, MArch
Priya qualified at The University of London South Bank in 2019 and will do her part III in 2021.
Favourite Building: "Heritance Hotel, Sri Lanka, 1994 by Geoffrey Bawa....it blends in with the surrounding nature becoming part of the forest "

Vanessa qualified at the University of Huddersfield, 2020 and will do her Part III in 2021.
Favourite Architect: "Renzo Piano for his ability to tailor his designs to suit the context, using a combination of modernist and postmodernist principles."
Hala al Haddid, MA
Hala is a graduate of Sheffield University and is currently studying for her MCIAT.
Favourite Building: "Richard Roger and Renzo Piano's 'Big Urban Toy' the Pompidou for its peculiar design, inside-out construction and bright mechanical tubing".
